This event is aimed at an interested professional audience. We have a few places available on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to attend the workshop, please contact the organizer.
In this workshop, the participants explore links between socio-economic inequality and local politics in Brazil, Italy, Switzerland, and the US. They probe how electoral institutions affect the socio-economic composition of local government, and how the relative affluence of elected officials influences economic policymaking. Moving further, the political drivers of spatial inequality, i.e. segregation, as well as the consequences thereof for voter behavior will be evaluated.
